Johnson City, TN. (October 27, 2018) — Arbico East volunteered at Coalition for Kids in Johnson City, TN, on Saturday, October 27, helping with upkeep on the non-profit's facilities. Arbico took on the volunteer project in recognition of Make A Difference Day, a national day of service supported in part by the Arby's foundation.
Coalition for Kids is a non-profit dedicated to helping children in need, both the economically impoverished and the domestically abused or neglected. It provides after-school tutoring, preventative programs for violence and substance abuse, free snacks, and free dinner to the hundreds of kids it serves throughout the week. The non-profit offers all of its services free of charge, relying heavily upon charitable donations and volunteers. The crew from Arbico helped Cindy, Director of Community Outreach at Coalition for Kids, and Dave, Maintenance Supervisor, catch up on some needed facilities maintenance. The volunteers painted furniture, cut donated ceiling tiles to size, landscaped, cleaned the building's awning in preparation for a painting project, and repaired external soffit, in addition to other projects. "This was a great experience," said Anne Mann, who volunteered Saturday and is Senior Accountant at Arbico East, "and we got to learn more about Coalition for Kids and what a wonderful organization it is." "You can tell the people at Coalition for Kids have a heart for the kids in our community," said Isaac Ratliff, Marketing Specialist at Arbico and an Arbico volunteer. "The opportunity to support them in their mission to help kids in need is something we all appreciated." Click here to learn more about Coalition for Kids.
