Bristol, Tenn. (February 26, 2019) — TriCities Arby’s restaurants today announced a combined donation of $23,963 to local charities in 2019. The recipients include four local charities that support youth initiatives in the TriCities area, including: Bristol Motor Speedway Children’s Charities, Feeding America Southwest Virginia, Second Harvest Food Bank, and Niswonger Children’s Hospital.

In January, Arbico East (parent company of the TriCities Arby’s) donated $11,713 to Bristol Motor Speedway Children’s Charities. The gift came from $1 donations by guests during a December fundraiser for the local non-profit, which helps fund organizations like Big Brothers/Big Sisters of East TN, CASA, Children's Advocacy Centers, Coalition for Kids, Niswonger Children’s Hospital, and many more.

This month, Arby’s Foundation, the independent charitable arm of Arby’s selected Arbico East to receive an additional $10,000 grant awarded to local food banks focused on children’s programs. Arby’s Foundation selected Arbico East for one of its grants thanks to the TriCities restaurant fundraising endeavors. The Arby’s Foundation also awarded $7,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee, where Arbico has 10 locations, and an additional $3,000 to Feeding America of Southwest Virginia, where Arbico has 2 locations.

Arbico also participated in the Niswonger Radiothon Fundraiser on February 19th, donating a percentage of the day’s sales to Niswonger Children’s Hospital in Johnson City. WTFM broadcasted the event onsite at the newly renovated Arby’s on East Stone Drive in Kingsport. Arby’s of the TriCities donated $2,250 to Niswonger Children’s Hospital as a result of the fundraiser.
