New Location Opens on West State Street in Bristol, TN; Winner of Arby's for a Year Announced, Donation Made to Healing Hands Health Center
On Monday September 13, 2021, Arbico East LLC celebrated the Grand Opening of their 14th area Arby’s. The Company is based in Bristol, TN and this 14th location is located in Bristol at 2615 West State Street.
The Arby’s® restaurant celebrated the Grand Opening with a ribbon cutting with a contest where a guest had a chance to win Arby’s for a Year! Guests entered at the restaurant September 13 – 26, 2021. On Monday, September 27, a random drawing was held and Angela Simerly won 52 VIP cards, each valid for a free medium combo to be used within the next year. She came into the restaurant and entered to win on our opening day!
The new restaurant also celebrated the expansion by donating a portion of all opening week sales to the Healing Hands Health Center in Bristol, TN resulting in a $2,000 donation to the group! Healing Hands Health Center provides health services for our uninsured neighbors in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. These services include medical care and much needed medications; dental care including exams, x-rays, cleanings, extractions, fillings, partials and dentures; chiropractic care; eye exams and eyeglasses.
The new Bristol Arby’s is located in the former Burger King building on West State Street. Arbico East opened its first location in Bristol, Virginia in 1982 and holds a growing commitment to the Arby's brand in the Tri-Cities area. The restaurant’s design includes an inviting color palette that ties to the Brand colors, multicolor wood materials, modern lighting and chalkboard graphics, and a brand-new dual-line kitchen. The restaurant also features a dual order point drive through configuration that will help speed guest service. It will be one of only a handful of Arby’s restaurants in the world that will include the dual order point configuration.
Jeff Shawl, co-owner of Arbico East, said, “My Dad, Don Shawl, along with his founding partners, opened the first location here in Bristol almost 40 years ago. We are incredibly thankful for the support from the community and from our teams over such a long period of time. It is exciting to open our 14th Arby’s in Bristol, where we started in 1982!” Chris Smith, co-owner of Arbico East, said, “We are thrilled to open this new restaurant. We believe strongly in Arby’s and thank the Bristol community for the ongoing support of our restaurants!”
In the coming months, Arbico East intends to further invest in Arby’s in our area by opening a location in Glade Spring, Virginia.
